Through his lawyer, Gary Lund on Tuesday filed a $2 million lawsuit against the city for allegedly stymying his recent efforts and the efforts of others to site a strip club in the city.
The six-count civil suit attorney Brian Cunha of Fall River filed in Taunton Superior Court seeks declaratory relief against the city on grounds it denied Lund’s First Amendment rights to operate Club Martinique, the strip club he’s proposed in three locations over the past year.

The 15-page suit, which reportedly includes reams of attachments, lists two dozen items of Lund’s efforts to site a strip club at 65 Manchester St., 648 Rodman St. and 139 Front St.

He included numerous actions by the city and Planning Department related to control of strip clubs, basically alleging at several junctures “the motive for revising the above ordinance was to ban adult entertainment via use of the zoning laws.”
