Palm Gardens was equally unpopular with most folks in Uxbridge in the early ’80s, when strippers and exotic dancers were added at the site of a former neighborhood bar on North Main Street near a church and a school. That club, too, is long gone.
This year, Mendon residents opposed a strip club on Rte. 16. In May, selectmen found they couldn’t legally deny the license, but could impose limits that include no alcohol be served and a 6-foot buffer between dancers and patrons be observed.
