You can read about women in these slums, in the red light district, about how they’ve lost their identity, but to go and see how people are changing and the hope and the smiles that exist, it’s really reassuring. This report is similar to an earlier reported crime on July 9. According to the police report, a woman said she was assaulted and robbed at 12:30 a.m. by the intersection of Naples Road and Commonwealth Avenue, only a block from the site of the previous incident.
As with the previous assault, the attacker was able to take the belongings of the victim, in this case her purse, after a physical struggle, the report said.
The woman described her attacker as a black male with similar characteristics as the suspect in the July 9 case.
In both instances, the victim was speaking on a cell phone.
Students were instructed to be careful when walking alone late at night in an emergency alert emailed to students Tuesday by BUPD Chief Thomas Robbins.
In the alert, Robbins gave some safety tips for students walking at night, asking them to remain aware of their surroundings, stay with others, call a taxi or the BU escort service if necessary and contact the BUPD about any suspicious activity.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Calls Kathy Griffin “Scum”
There’s no love lost between Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Kathy Griffin and now the hostility between them has reached a fevered pitch.
During a Hot Topics segment on The View, Elisabeth referred to Kathy as “scum” while calling her out for joking that Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown’s two daughters were “prostitutes.”
“You know what? I know his daughters and they are anything but that,” Elisabeth said, adding, “You defend your daughters against scum who comes after them and calls them something like a prostitute.”
Kathy’s comment aired last week on her Bravo TV show My Life on the D-List and was followed by a disclaimer stating it was clearly a joke.
We’re sure Kathy is loving the all publicity she’s getting and will use it as fodder for her next stand-up show!

Don’t cry, Love. Playing a prostitute and wearing a jumpsuit earned your Lifetime original movie some pretty impressive numbers.

Stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander even managed to trump their “Closer” lead-in, which had a slightly larger drop in total viewers down to 7 million.

As reported last week, the Bay Village Neighborhood Association (BVNA) held a public meeting on June 29 for Jacque’s Cabaret to discuss extending their all-alcohol license from midnight to 2 a.m. Nearly 100 residents attended to talk about noise, traffic, vandalism, public urination, and prostitution in the area immediately surrounding Jacque’s when shows end. Neither the owner nor manager attended, instead sending their attorney, lobbyist Ted Aleixo.
He presented no solution for the concerns of neighbors and the Boston Police Department except for a police detail that Captain Bernard O’Rourke insisted would not be available during those hours. Aleixo even made the jaw-dropping claim that drunk bachelorettes walking away from the bar at closing may not be coming from Jacque’s. Such flippant dismissal of residents was routine in this meeting — and, in fact, has been commonplace from Jacque’s for years. There was no good faith attempt to address the current troubles, let alone new ones created by extending their closing time. Consequently, the BVNA members voted unanimously to oppose the license extension.
