Boston Escorts: Pub Date: Today

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

And helped to correct some errors!  May I share with you a favorite story?  Early in the book, I talk about the wide variety of ministries that Ignatius and the early Jesuits set up—as a way of showing how broadminded his spirituality was.  Their spirituality could be understood not only through what they wrote, but what they did.  Anyway, I had written that he founded the Casa Santa Marta in Rome, a “house for prostitutes.” Father O’Malley wrote puckishly in a note, “That would be a house for reformed prostitutes.  I think the distinction is rather important.”  Without Fr. O’Malley there wouldn’t be a book.  The same could be said for all my Jesuit spiritual directors over the years, and my Jesuit friends.  That’s why this book is dedicated to Fratribus carissimae in Societate Jesu–my dear brothers in the Society of Jesus.

Boston Escorts: A sexual abuse survivor speaks out

Friday, March 5th, 2010

At around age 16, “I found myself hanging out at the Greyhound bus station, turning tricks,” he said. “There are a lot of different reasons why I did it. At the beginning, it was [for] attention.”
“Meantime, I have a girlfriend, and she asks me where I’m getting money. Now I’m lying, conning and conniving,” he said.
Kimball still didn’t fully understand the impact of the sexual abuse, but he had not forgotten what Holmes had done. One night when he was around 18 or 19, Kimball was drinking heavily with one of his brothers and “blurted out” the truth. The two of them headed to Showa’s campus, intending to “raise hell” and smash out a few windows of the hated former Nazareth center. Security guards chased them off.
Five years into his street life, Kimball was arrested for prostitution. His name was in the newspaper. “Now I’m getting shunned by family and friends,” he recalled.

Boston Escorts: Why Does He Eat With Sinners?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

… Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ’sinners’?” (Matthew 9:11)
Evidently Jesus hung out with a bad crowd.
We know that because the super-religious types found it offensive. One translation catches the flavor this way:
“Why does your teacher eat with such scum?” (NLT)
There are many ways to answer that question . . . .
Because he loved them.Because they knew he cared for them.Because he knew they weren’t really scum.
And maybe this is the deepest reason . . .
Because the professional religionists wanted nothing to do with him. Prostitutes and tax collectors got along just fine with Jesus because he knew what they were and he loved them anyway. He enjoyed their company, laughed with them, listened to them, and made himself available to them.

Boston Escorts: Tofino provincial court, March 1 & 2

Friday, March 5th, 2010

A 64 year-old tugboat operator faced two quite different charges in Tofino court March 1 and pled guilty to both. Edward W. Hudson was charged with impaired driving of a motor vessel and also with communication with a person for the purposes of soliciting prostitution.
Crown attorney David Kidd said the impaired charges stemmed from an incident May 15, 2009, when Hudson was hired by a group of three people to take them to Hot Springs Cove aboard his vessel, the Go Getter.
Ahousaht RCMP and the Tofino Coast Guard eventually engaged in a rescue after one of the motors and the navigational equipment on the boat malfunctioned. When rescuers found the vessel and finally succeeded in boarding it, Hudson, who was intoxicated, became aggressive. Hudson continued to be “vulgar” with police when they returned him to the Tofino detachment. Tests showed Hudson had a blood alcohol level of 140 mgs.

Let him just be single and let him just do whatever gross stuff he wants to do with those ladyfriends of his and let me NEVER HEAR ABOUT THEM AGAIN. And let him pimp walk around the golf course all day long blasting LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out” while Phil Mickleson curls up into a fetal position, crying, having flashbacks of Winged Foot while someone plays Mark Jackson in a loop shouting over and over “Mama, there goes that man again!”

Boston Escorts: So long, J.D., icon for generations

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

They’re a collection of short stories, “Nine Stories,” and two compilations: “Franny and Zooey” and “Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction.” They are all works of art.
I remember the punch I felt in my gut after reading “Just Before the War with the Eskimos” in “Nine Stories” (1953). The ending was so inconclusive that I read it about a dozen times. It was genius.
I later learned that critics have long loved “Nine Stories.” John Updike said loved Salinger’s endings, the “open-ended Zen quality they have, the way they don’t snap shut.”
But Salinger wrote his life creed with “Catcher in the Rye” (1951).
Holden hates that his brother D.B. “prostitutes himself” as a screenwriter in Hollywood. Salinger ordered his agent to burn any fan mail. He told the editors of Saturday Review that he was “good and sick” of seeing his face on the “Catcher” book jacket and demanded that it be removed.

Boston Escorts: Craigslist sex bust sparks worry

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Craigslist hooker bust in the same Hub hotel where police say cyber-trolling accused killer Philip Markoff tied up a Las Vegas call girl has raised new fears the Web site’s seedy side remains a hunting ground for predators and their deadly tricks.

Anderson was arrested on prostitution charges and cops seized a laptop and $3,100 cash from her. She was released on $1,000 bail after her arraignment Thursday and is due back in Boston Municipal Court on Feb. 11, a Conley spokeswoman said.

The new bust reignites the controversy surrounding Craigslist, which pledged to crack down on prostitution ads in the wake of Brisman’s slaying. Responding to heated criticism from law enforcement nationwide, the Web site implemented new guidelines that required payment for adult postings, as well as strict monitoring to weed out prostitution or other illegal sex solicitations. A Craigslist spokeswoman did not respond to requests for comment.

New Hampshire man serving prison sentence pleads guilty to raping New Bedford prostitute
NEW BEDFORD — A New Hampshire man already serving 25 to 30 years in prison for raping four prostitutes in Brockton pleaded guilty Friday to raping a New Bedford prostitute.
Brian D. Knippers, 36, admitted to picking up the woman in April 2008 and driving her to a secluded area of New Bedford, where he tied her up, threatened to kill her and repeatedly raped and beat her with a large stick.

The New Bedford woman identified Knippers as the man who sexually assaulted her after being shown a photo array by detectives. The rape occurred the same day a Brockton prostitute told police there that she had encountered Knippers and recognized him as the man who had raped her two years earlier.
