Boston Massage Parlors: Avram Grant says farewell Pompey. West Ham next?

Friday, May 21st, 2010

The 55-year-old Israeli has been associated with Portsmouth ever since he came to England in 2006 to be the club’s technical director.
The following year he moved to Chelsea as director of football, soon taking over as manager after Roman Abramovich’s fallout with Jose Mourinho. Despite taking Chelsea to the Champions League final, Grant was dumped by the Russian after one season.
He returned to Portsmouth in October 2009 as director of football and, in a replay of what happened at Chelsea, he quickly he took the manager’s role from Paul Hart. The club were bottom of the Premier League having won only seven points from 13 games.
Under Grant, Portsmouth began to find some form. They won 10, lost 16 and drew seven of the 33 matches played with Grant as manager. He even managed to ride the storm when a tabloid caught him visiting a Thai massage parlour.

Boston Massage Parlors: Chelsea are 1-10 to win the FA Cup

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

The only thing more annoying than Westwood about today’s final is Didier Drogba, whose record for hitting the net is bettered only by his record for hitting the deck. He would regain the sympathy of the neutral only by hitting the Westwood.
Drogba is just 13-8 with Stan James to need treatment from the Chelsea physio at least twice during the 90 minutes.

You can get 6-4 for zero treatment. No chance. Last Saturday I bumped into the telly while hoovering and Drogba tumbled over in agony. Chelsea weren’t even playing.
Some Pompey players are saying that their appearance in today’s final underlines the romance of the Cup.
But boss Avram Grant said if they want romance they should go straight to a massage parlour and pay for it like any normal bloke.

Boston Massage Parlors: Bet on Chelsea Securing league and Cup Double in Ancelotti’s First Season

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

On the face of it Chelsea only need to turn up at Wembley to win, don’t they? Fresh from winning the league, Ancelotti’s men have finished with something of a flourish. They’ve scored seven goals on three occasions this season and rounded off the campaign by putting eight past Wigan last Sunday, although the first goal looked offside to me. History could have been oh so different if that goal was disallowed. Chelsea have already done the double over Pompey this season en route to becoming the first team to surpass scoring 100 goals in the Premier League. Pomepy, er, finished bottom.
When he was with Chelsea, Avram Grant finished second in the Premier League and runner-up in the Champions League but was deemed a failure. This season Pompey have had four owners, late wages, a transfer ban, administration, a nine-point deduction and relegation and he’s hailed as a hero.
Everybody is now pleading with Avram to stay, the players, the chairman, the administrators and the local massage parlour owners.

Boston Massage Parlors: Lawmaker: Salem massage ordinance outdated, unfair

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

SALEM — Laws that might be a holdover from the days of shady massage parlors are irking some people in Salem, who think they shouldn’t apply to today’s massage therapists.
Rep. Ron Belanger, R-Salem, said a massage therapist brought it to his attention that the town code requires them to prove they have no communicable disease by having a yearly physical. They also must keep a register of who their patrons are and when they visit.
“I think that’s appalling,” he said.
Belanger, a former selectman, said he had contacted the Board of Selectmen about the possibility of changing the ordinance. He said it was unfair for the Health Department to single out massage therapists, when other people it licenses do not need to provide proof they’ve been examined.

“You know, concerns with the massage parlors,” Lockard said. “We don’t call them massage parlors anymore.”

Boston Massage Parlors: Old Malden sauna to be shut by Kingston Council

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Kingston Council is set to issue an enforcement order against the Forest and Ocean sauna and massage parlour, in Manor Drive North, after a petition with 223 names was handed in to the council.
Internet advertisements claimed the sauna would offer “lovely masseuses will give you great sensual massage and excellent service. We also have Sauna and Body scrub.” They denied the sauna offered a sexual service.
Manor Drive North resident Pat O’Connell, who started the petition, said: “I became very worried because I have heard the boys from the local schools have been trying to get in because it is next door to a sweet shop.
“We were concerned it was an inappropriate activity in a residential area. It should be within a fitness centre.”

“We’ve shown to everyone that we didn’t want a massage parlour here, especially so close to the schools.”

Boston Massage Parlors: April 15 Tax Day Freebies of 2010

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

April 15 Tax Day Freebies of 2010
Tax day Freebies are April 15th’s way of giving American taxpayers a break. The looming tax day deadline is here, much to the chagrin of everyone. Tax day freebies could generate a few smiles nonetheless. Starbucks, restaurants, massage parlors and store-by-store deals are all available on the most stressful day of the year for some.
April 15 has forced even Starbucks to give everyone a break. Participating stores will be offering free brewed coffee to anyone that brings in a reusable travel mug. The effort is mainly in part to promote the end of using paper cups and not solely for those needing caffeine on Tax Day.
Redplum reports more tax day freebies taking place on April 15. Free cupcakes are available at Cinnabun. Two free cupcakes or “Tax Day Bites” will be offered between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. today at participating stores, airport locations are sadly excluded.

Boston Massage Parlors: Why I Didn’t Interview Chelsea Handler

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

None of my nearest and dearest could believe it: I was prepared to endure all those trucker massage parlor billboards along I-75 on a pilgrimage to Atlanta to see Chelsea Handler, my favorite (living) comedian, and I wasn’t even going to attempt to get an interview? Capitano, you are one crazy cat.
It’s true, I didn’t so much as attempt a Facebook message with the sassy host of E!’s “Chelsea Lately.” You see, if she agreed to an interview, and we didn’t get along so hot, then I’d have a very hard time continuing to enjoy her career arc.

So I left my journalist hat south of the trucker massage parlor billboards and took in Handler’s stand-up material, which turned out to be too-familiar and therefore disappointing. But, I can get over that. It’s nothing personal. An interview is personal, and I wasn’t willing to gamble that she wouldn’t disappoint me.
