… I know Terry is a married woman with a child, and she’s a good businesswoman,” Reddington said. “She’s worked hard over the years to build up her spa business.”
Mussari is due back in court on Jan. 9.
Williams Sims of Brockton, who represented Mussari at her arraignment on Oct. 24, said he will still be involved in her case.
Sims, who previously called the charges against Mussari “exaggerated,” said in a phone interview last week that he is not convinced there was sexual activity at her spas, but if there was, “it was probably on an isolated basis, and Terry has no knowledge of it.”
He also called Mussari a staunch opponent of drug use.
“She doesn’t even take aspirin, I believe,” Sims said.
Reddington represented Mussari in 2003 after an Easton spa she owned was investigated for prostitution. Months later, she faced a charge of operating a massage parlor with unlicensed personnel, but it was dismissed.

An advert online explicitly stated in English the venue did not offer sexual services.

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011Jason Lefferts said the board could fine those involved, suspend or revoke their licenses. Lefferts said there are two types of licenses: one for an establishment held by the owner and those held by the individual employees.
“There are some rules about what cosmetologists can and cannot do,” Lefferts said. “And these allegations would obviously be outside what they’re allowed to do under their license. We’re working with law enforcement on this.”
Mussari is licensed as a massage therapist, according to the Division of Professional Licensure’s online database. She voluntarily surrendered or chose not to renew her chiropractor license in 2006.
She owned an Easton spa called the The Backstop Massage Place and Spine Stop that in 2003 was investigated for prostitution. Months later, she faced a charge of operating a massage parlor with unlicensed personnel, but it was dismissed and she paid $200 in court costs, according to the Taunton District Court clerk’s office.

WELLESLEY, Mass. — Police went undercover to bust a massage parlor that police said was handing out more than just back rubs.
Police said in mid-July they noticed a neon sign in the window that to them didn’t seem quite right. Police shutdown the parlor that they say was selling sexual favors.
The business was run out of a building at 120 Cedar in Wellesley. Undercover detectives on patrol noticed a sign for Aroma Spa massage in the window and subsequently discovered an advertisement on Craigslist.
Wellesley police said according the state licensure division there was never any license issued for the business.
A detective then went undercover as customer. An officer made an appointment for a massage. The detective reported at the end of the massage he asked the female employee if she would “Take care of him.”

Boston Massage Parlors: Wellesley one of country’s top-earning towns
Monday, August 15th, 2011The Wellesley entry, which features an image of Linden Square, reads in part: “…if residents are rich and smart, they’re certainly not idle. The town’s citizens take their community service seriously, whether as elected officials with statutory responsibilities or volunteers who cut and maintain walking trails. More than 500 people actively serve on town boards and committees.”
Given Wellesley’s wealth, it’s no surprise homes continue to be theft targets. Wellesley police reported 3 residential break-ins over the past few days, including a couple in the Cliff Estates area. Preliminary investigations have determined items were taken.
Separately, Wellesley’s earnings ranking could plummet if we learn that the operator of an alleged illegal massage parlor on Cedar Street (see Patch) was making a killing before being shut down by Wellesley Police. (Cedar Street was also the location of another such business that was shuttered by cops in 2008).
