A review of state Sen. Steven Baddour’s end-of-year campaign finance filings shows a number of expenditures, including a very interesting bill for an Oct. 4 lunch with constituents.
The original report filed with the state says Baddour treated everyone to a $50.65 lunch at the “Strippers Grille” in Salisbury. The report was amended Thursday to reflect the actual name of the restaurant — “Stripers.”

Grind78 Entertainment’s Marco Joubert told the commission he intends to run “a clean operation.”
“I’m not trying to bring trouble or negativity to Haverhill,” said Joubert, who told commissioners he lives in Haverhill and was born and raised here. “I’m very strict at my events. There’s a dress code and we’re careful not to let anyone under 21 in. We had more than 300 people at the (Sept. 16) show and there were no problems or calls to police.”
Donald Sheldon, a lawyer who owns Academy Plaza and is D’Angelo’s landlord, also spoke on her behalf. Sheldon said he keeps a close eye on his property and would evict Sheldon if she was involved in illicit or illegal activity.
“It’s not a strip club,” Sheldon said of the business in the city’s Bradford section. “It’s a clean operation. I’m on top of it.”

Boston Strip Clubs: Reputed ex-NE mob boss can appeal bail order

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—
A federal judge in Rhode Island has given a former reputed New England mob boss permission to appeal a decision denying him bail while he awaits trial in a strip club extortion case.
The order issued on Monday means 84-year-old Luigi “Baby Shacks” Manocchio (muh-NOCK’-ee-oh) can ask the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston for bail.
Last week, a lawyer for Manocchio sought permission to file the appeal late. A judge in December denied a request from Manocchio to await trial under GPS monitoring at the home of his physician brother in Glocester.
Manocchio has been locked up at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls since a decision to grant bail was overturned in March. He has pleaded not guilty to charges including racketeering conspiracy.

Danvers resident and Lancaster Town Administrator Orlando Pacheco released an apology statement on Friday Jan. 20, in regard to his August drunk driving arrest, stating the lapse in judgement was “very out of character.”
On Aug. 25, police reported finding Pacheco passed out on the hood of his car at a Westborough gas station. Police said he had stopped at the gas station after coming from a bachelor party at a strip club in Worcester.
Westborough Police officer Steve Reale said when he arrived on scene Pacheco was slumped over the hood of his car, and his pants were partially pulled down.
“I sincerely regret the events of the evening that led to my arrest,” Pacheco said in a release, according to WHDH. “This lapse in judgment is very out of character for me. This has been a difficult lesson for me. At no time did this incident affect my job performance or productivity.”
