The Puccios treated their companies interchangeably. They charged expenses for one company to the credit card of another, while paying the bill with a check from yet another of the corporations. At least one person who worked for CCC, Cambridge and BC Mass at different times directly received the bank statements and paid the bills of one Puccio company while he was not an employee of that company, but instead worked for a different Puccio enterprise. While John Puccio was running Cambridge, the company paid large sums of money to other Puccio-controlled companies without consideration. For example, JRJ Associates, Inc., a company owned by John and Richard Puccio, was paid at least $150,000 by Cambridge. John and Richard Puccio also purchased personal items with corporate funds. Personal charges from a “gentleman’s club” and for a yacht appeared on the Puccio companies’ corporate credit card bills.

New Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany has taken over a police department stained in the past with corruption and internal rivalries.
His years of experience and status as an outsider have gone a long way toward returning respectability to local police. That doesn’t mean there won’t be problems along the way; but the hope is that Shastany deals with them swiftly and wisely.
That appears to be the case in the recent scandal involving former Stoughton police officer Richard Bennett and Bridget “The Midget” Powers, a 3-foot-9 adult film star performing at local strip club Alex’s.
Bennett showed up at the club one night, in uniform and on duty, and had his picture taken with Powers. He was already under investigation for altering his police firearm and, after showing the Powers photo around the police station, other officers reported him.

This Sunday I biked there from Somerville. I went up Route 99 into Everett, and then merged onto Route 16. Things were going as expected, but then little by little Route 16 turned from a fast route through an urban area – not the most hospitable ride, but manageable – into a real highway, complete with off-ramps and underpasses. The actual highway part only lasted for a mile or so, but it was memorable.
On the way back, I decided to go along the coast, through East Boston and Chelsea. This route was a lot nicer. Downtown Chelsea is really pretty and so are parts of Eastie, especially close to the water. There’s only one hitch. That route took my past King Arthur’s, a strip club and motel that’s on a pothole-strewn road in the shadow of the large power plant on the shores of the Mystic River. For a journo such as myself, it’s an awesome sight to behold – so far metaphorically and so close geographically to the tourist hot spots. But, it’s also pretty nasty bicycling in the fields around the gas power plant.

With a strip club proposed in Mendon and a sports bar asking Milford officials for permission to bring in racy dancers, 2008 brought an X-rated wakeup call for nearby Medway.
After reviewing the town’s rules for adult entertainment businesses, planners said they feared the zone for adult video stores and similar shops was too small, leaving Medway vulnerable to a legal challenge. The rules also would have allowed such businesses on Rte. 109 – a major street.

This month, Groton plumber Joe Ferguson proposed turning the former Tin Alley Grill on Rte. 9 in Framingham into a strip club. He withdrew the plans when the site’s owner backed out, but he has said he is working on a “Plan B.”

The Stoughton police officer who was forced to resign following his trip to a local strip club to see a diminutive porn star certainly couldn’t have welcomed all the ensuing publicity. But all the coverage of the story in the past week was good news for the business, Club Alex’s in Stoughton.
A manager who answered the phone at Alex’s and said his name was David told me he expects all the attention that Bridget “The Midget” Powers’ visit to Alex’s has generated for the club will help sell tickets for the 3’ 9” porn star’s return visit to the club for three days at the end of August.
Apparently, Powers drew sell-out crowds during her recent three-night appearance, when the Stoughton cop visited Alex’s in uniform while on duty. Tickets sold for $15 apiece, according to the club manager, who didn’t want to give me his last name.

Boston Strip Clubs: Holliston planner to review town’s adult zoning

This summer, Sherman plans to report back to the board, which has adult entertainment regulations on its Aug. 26 meeting agenda.
“Ours are very basic,” she said. “They’re sort of a footnote to our use table. Some people have a few more (rules), and I think that’s our board’s concern.”
Planning Board Chairman Warren Chamberlain said some members are worried about the possible side-effects of a casino proposed in Milford, including whether it could attract adult entertainment.
“In the neighborhood of a casino, the market for such another auxiliary business might be stronger,” Chamberlain said. “That could become an issue.”
Right now, adult video stores, strip clubs and other risque businesses are allowed only by special permit in the industrially zoned part of East Holliston, including the town’s industrial parks, Sherman said.
