Boston Escorts: Possible link between Commonwealth Avenue assaults

July 21st, 2010 by bostonharlot

This report is similar to an earlier reported crime on July 9. According to the police report, a woman said she was assaulted and robbed at 12:30 a.m. by the intersection of Naples Road and Commonwealth Avenue, only a block from the site of the previous incident.
As with the previous assault, the attacker was able to take the belongings of the victim, in this case her purse, after a physical struggle, the report said.
The woman described her attacker as a black male with similar characteristics as the suspect in the July 9 case.
In both instances, the victim was speaking on a cell phone.
Students were instructed to be careful when walking alone late at night in an emergency alert emailed to students Tuesday by BUPD Chief Thomas Robbins.
In the alert, Robbins gave some safety tips for students walking at night, asking them to remain aware of their surroundings, stay with others, call a taxi or the BU escort service if necessary and contact the BUPD about any suspicious activity.

Boston Escorts: The joy next door

July 21st, 2010 by bostonharlot

For years, the view from Ivelese Rivera’s Roxbury apartment was dominated by an abandoned lot filled with trash and frequented by drug dealers and prostitutes.
Yesterday, Rivera, 41, was on hand to witness a much more appealing scene: a ribbon-cutting ceremony for 20 new pastel-colored townhouses built on the site. The three-story homes come complete with shimmering solar panels and other “green’’ features such as low-flow sinks and toilets.
The townhouses, known as Twenty at Luma, represent the final phase of a 15-year, $103-million project to revamp the old Orchard Park public housing development, once one of the most crime-ridden and dilapidated housing communities in Boston. Twenty at Luma completes its evolution into a revitalized residential complex that, in addition to the townhouses, includes 331 rental units and 25 condominiums.

Boston Escorts: Ratings: Ladies love ‘The Client List,’ ‘Rizzoli & Isles’ holds strong

July 21st, 2010 by bostonharlot

Don’t cry, Love. Playing a prostitute and wearing a jumpsuit earned your Lifetime original movie some pretty impressive numbers.
Jennifer Love Hewitt’s “The Client List” averaged a whopping 3.9 million viewers in its first airing, making it the second most-watched cable movie of 2010. The story of a down-on-her-luck mom who turns to hookin’, “CL” also features Cybill Shepherd in the role of Love’s mom. (Personally, we think she would have been better cast as a no-nonsense madam, but we’ll take our Cybill where we can get her.)
All in all, Monday night was a big one for those with a double dose of the X chromosome. Freshman TNT drama “Rizzoli & Isles” brought in 7.3 million viewers for its second episode — that’s just a 4 percent drop from last week’s 7.6 million premiere. Stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander even managed to trump their “Closer” lead-in, which had a slightly larger drop in total viewers down to 7 million.

Boston Strip Clubs: Colleagues ‘upset’ over Stoughton cop’s picture with dwarf porn star

A Stoughton patrolman, already in trouble for lying about an unauthorized alteration to his service weapon, outraged his colleagues when he showed them a photograph of himself, in uniform, abandoning his patrol to pose with a dwarf porn star outside a local strip club, Police Chief Paul Shastany said.
Patrolman Richard Bennett showed several colleagues a picture of his June 20 meeting with Bridget “The Midget” Powers, a 3-foot-9 adult-film star with dwarfism who was performing during a special engagement at Club Alex’s. Those officers then reported the matter to their superiors, who were already investigating Bennett for having a laser sight installed on his service weapon without the chief’s permission.
“They were upset at him and it was reported promptly,” Shastany said of Bennett’s encounter with the porn star. “They felt there was sufficient misconduct to be reported because it was an affront to their sensibilities.”

Boston Strip Clubs: Proposed Framingham strip club moves to Plan B

July 21st, 2010 by roxy

Strippers might be part of the town’s future, but there will not be any scantily clad women dancing on a stage at the former Tin Alley Grill.
“It’s out of the question,” John Kilgallen, who manages the property at 1699 Worcester Road, said yesterday.
Kilgallen said he had been in talks to lease the vacant building to Groton plumber Joe Ferguson, but was shocked by the news Ferguson filed plans with the town to turn the place into a high-end strip club called “Bright Side.”
“As soon as I saw it in the paper I just went ‘Oh my God,”‘ Kilgallen said.
Having lost his proposed site, Ferguson yesterday withdrew his application for a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Kilgallen yesterday said he and owner Westchester Associates “don’t want to be associated” with a strip club.

Boston Strip Clubs: Officer quits over stripper incident

July 21st, 2010 by roxy

A Stoughton police officer has resigned after internal affairs investigations found that he left his patrol to meet a stripper known as “the world’s smallest porn star’’ and that he modified his service pistol by attaching a laser-sighting device, according to the police chief.

He deserted his patrol area during a shift in mid-June and drove to Club Alex’s in Stoughton, Shastany said. He spoke to a manager at the club and arranged to have a 3-foot-9 porn actress and stripper, known as Bridget “The Midget’’ Powers, meet him in the parking lot so he could be photographed with her while in uniform.
“This brings discredit and shame on an organization,’’ said Shastany, 55. If people in the community saw Bennett posing with the stripper, he said, “what’s the takeaway? Is that something where people say, ‘Oh, that’s awesome, look at the community policing?’ I am frankly livid that that’s something an officer thinks he could get away with.’’

Boston Strip Clubs: ‘Bridget the Midget’ big trouble for Stoughton cop

July 21st, 2010 by roxy

Bennett stepped down after five officers reported he left his patrol to ogle Bridget the Midget, a 3-feet, 9-inch tall porn star, Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany said. Bennett was also facing discipline for putting an unapproved laser scope on his gun and lying to investigators, Shastany said.
Bennett, who was honored by the department in June for his work in helping catch an accused killer, installed a laser sight on his department-issued handgun and then lied to investigators about it, the chief said.
“He modified his weapon without permission,” Shastany said. “And when he was interviewed, was untruthful. If an officer is untruthful, you do not have a place in this organization.”
Of the strip club visit, Shastany said: “He went there and left his beat and wanted to meet this person.”

Boston Strip Clubs: ALICE C. BROWN, Canton: Rotenberg Center must be booted out of Canton

July 20th, 2010 by roxy

In an atmosphere of silent complicity, where town “leaders” would rather have the taxes from the Judge Rotenberg Center in Canton, than to outlaw it, it’s nice to see one of our police officers refuse to bow to the pressure.
In a story carried by The Patriot Ledger, Canton police Lt. Patty Sherrill reported that a child at the center told her, “Miss, you have to get me out of here. I fear for my safety.”
Maybe Sherrill’s comments on the conditions at the center will do what the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.N., state Sen. Brian Joyce and the students of Brandeis University have not been able to do – zone that place out of town, as Rhode Island did.
We don’t have strip clubs and adult bookstores; why should we have a place that shocks, spits and slaps its victims into submission?

Officer resigns after meeting porn star while on duty
STOUGHTON, Mass. — A police officer resigned after he was accused for deserting his patrol to have his picture taken with a porn star.
Richard Bennett, 28, submitted his resignation when he was confronted with the allegations that he left his patrol post to see the adult film star.
According to Police Chief Paul Shastany, the officer didn’t break any laws, but his curiosity got the best of him.
“There was information that just by nature of her stature that he wanted to see her,” said Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany.
The 3-foot, 9-inch woman, who worked at the gentleman’s club Alex’s, calls herself “Bridget the Midget.”
“He went and had a photograph taken with himself and this performer while he was in uniform. He didn’t enter the club, but what that did is it portrayed the police department in a very poor position,” said Shastany.
